Question by David G: Problems with Audi A4 Ignition Coils?
Has anyone been successful in going back to Audi (or their dealers) for compensation on failed ignition coils? I just purchased a 2005 A4 and within 3 months 3 of the coils failed. The car just passed 50K miles, so the parts and labor came out of my pocket.

I replace mine on a regular basis…..been through 5 in the last year…..its easy to do yourself…just undo the wiring harness and yank it out!

Question by CAT LADY LOO: How do I jump start my 96 Audi A6? Does the computer have to be reset? How?
The battery is completely dead, no lights, can’t even get into the trunk, only the driver side door will unlock with a key. Is there anyway I can get into the trunk now where I have jumper cables?
I still can’t get into my trunk, car manual says my key should open the trunk but it won’t, it turns but will not unlock.
I have a battery charger now so I don’t need the cables, right?
The manual also says I can hook the battery cables to the emergency posts under the hood, which means I don’t even need to get to the battery under the back seat. Can I hood the battery to the emergency post under hood also? It didn’t mention that.

Do the rear seats fold down?
When you do finaly get jumper cables, let the other car idle for 10-15 minutes while hooked up to your car before even trying to start it.
When you do start it DON”T push on the gas pedal. High engine speeds will fry the other cars alternator.!!

Bit late to worry about it now. If you’re having buyers remorse, sell it and get something you are happier with.

Question by k l: Oil sign has appeared: Audi a4: Car Smelling. What is this?
I got an Audi a4 courtesy car, It was delivered with an oil symbol saying ‘Min’. In the two days I’ve had it I have driven 150 miles. It is now starting to smell. Is this the Oil being low? How many miles have I left before something major happen? Should I call the franchise where the car’s come from? Am I covered on their breakdown etc… Thanks

It is possible that a family of small gypsies is living in the differential valve.
This could be causing the problem.
